The low-budget media campaign to launch the company needed to show people just how irritating it was to be stuck with old appliances. Old TVs were placed on seats of public transportation, and specially built outdoor boards topped billboard messages with a collection of redundant TVs. EMP could hardly keep up with the incoming phone calls."
